Baton Transport Hungary, a subsidiary of the Danish Baton Transport, is recruiting female truck drivers in India. The applicants don't need to have a driver's licence, the company is offering training and the opportunity to obtain a driving licence which will allow the new recruits to work in Europe.

In the first round, the company is looking for 25 Indian women to work as truck drivers in Hungary. If the project is successful, the transport company could hire up to 800 Indian women in the next five years.

Those who are hired will receive a salary of €1,800, or around 680,000 forints. According to the company, a Hungarian truck driver will get the same pay for the same job.

For this salary, the drivers have to work five days a week and can spend 2×4.5 hours a day behind the wheel.
