Szilvia Lubics won the Grand to Grand Ultra, a race which covers 275-kilometres between Arizona and Utah over the weekend. She announced on Facebook that she had covered the distance between the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon in 45 hours 32 minutes. The Hungarian runner finished one hour ahead of the French runner-up. Lubics ran the 40-50 kilometre stages in the hot sun, while carrying her equipment in her backpack and sleeping in a tent at night. During one of the legs of the race she ran a total of 85 kilometres. The other Hungarian in the race, Miklós Roskovics, finished 6th in his category.

Szilvia Lubics, who otherwise works as a dentist, was the women's winner at the Antarctica ultramarathon two years ago, covering 197 kilometres and finishing sixth out of 43 runners.
