After his public forum in Nagykőrös, Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó stopped to speak with the reporters of Telex, 444 and 24.hu to respond to questions about the Russian hacker attack.

The scandal erupted in 2022 with a Direkt36 article published on Telex, which revealed that Russian hackers had been essentially going in and out of the Hungarian foreign ministry's computer systems for years. At the time, the foreign ministry led by Szijjártó and other Fidesz politicians dismissed this as simply a "campaign lie", but in May this year 444 published an internal letter proving that the attack had indeed taken place, and that the foreign ministry's systems had been seriously compromised. Since then, many people have tried to ask Szijjártó substantive questions about it, Telex correspondents were kept from the Foreign Ministry by a cordon, and in Kalocsa, it was the police that prevented them from speaking with the Foreign Minister.
