According to Orbán, it's really down to just a year or two before the patriots take over Brussels

Viktor Orbán was once again the keynote speaker at the CPAC Hungary right-wing conference, held for the fifth time this year. The Hungarian Prime Minister is confident of victory in the upcoming election and vowed that within a few years, the entire Western world will be adorned in patriotic colors. This claim is somewhat tempered by the fact that Orbán has made the exact same promise in his CPAC speeches over the past few years.
“The Prime Minister is going to send a very, very strong message to the world,” the host of the TV programme Patrióta said when announcing Viktor Orbán’s speech.
The Prime Minister began his remarks by stating that the Western world has become a better place since Trump’s victory. By way of example, he cited what he sees as “the end of progressive censorship” and “the curbing of green madness.” According to the PM, we Hungarians also owe a great deal to Trump, as “after the frosty years of the Democrats, we have entered a golden age of Hungarian-American relations.”
The Hungarian CPAC conference is “the world’s biggest overt conspiracy,” Orbán stated. “In another year or two, the entire Western world will be resplendent in patriotic, national, conservative colors,” he predicted.
With its "green madness," Brussels has brought about "Europe's greatest economic collapse," and even this does not make Europe their top priority—it is Ukraine, the Prime Minister argued. In his view, rather than representing the interests of the European people, Brussels represents the Ukrainian president.

“The United States wants peace, while Brussels and Kyiv want to continue the war. It’s a complete nightmare!”
– Orbán remarked.
Ahead of Hungary's April election, Brussels is openly demanding that Hungary be governed by a pro-Brussels and pro-Ukraine administration, Orbán said. “Well, that won’t happen, my friends,” he declared, prompting applause.
According to Orbán, Hungary has been the most powerful bastion of national-conservative forces in the EU for sixteen years. Toppling this bastion would be the progressives’ greatest victory. Therefore, this battle is not just about Hungary, but also about who is going to win this match in Brussels, he said.
“The stakes are higher now than ever before. If we prevail here, we will not only defend Hungary, but will also break down the gates of the progressive forces in Brussels. We are going to win this election, and when we do, we will not stop; we will move forward, because it is not bureaucrats but the nations of Europe who must decide the future of Europe,”
Orbán said, concluding his speech.
When he opened the event last year, Orbán spoke about organized population replacement, the Soros empire having been exposed, and European liberals hiding behind the skirts of progressive journalists. In 2024, he said that “even if he wanted to, he couldn’t tell a Hungarian court what is right,” and a year earlier, he discussed “the Hungarian antidote to the murderous virus of progressivism.”
This is the fifth time that the Center for Fundamental Rights (which has close ties to the Orbán government) is organizing the Hungarian edition of CPAC – which is considered the most popular event of the American conservative movement. Despite this, the organizer's have not managed to bring any leading American politicians to Budapest this year either. Unlike in years past, this year’s event is a one-day affair. Perhaps the best known speaker other than Orbán this year will be Argentine President Javier Milei.
Trump: Orbán keeps on winning despite all the attacks
Just like in previous years, although he was invited, Donald Trump did not attend in person, but sent a video message instead. In it, he noted that he is endorsing Viktor Orbán in the upcoming Hungarian parliamentary elections because he “has been a strong leader, who has shown the entire world what’s possible when you defend your borders, your culture, your heritage, your sovereignty and your values”. According to Trump, Orbán did a fantastic job for his country, especially at the borders, “with all the crime and all the problems that other countries have”. You have powerful, strong borders, and he’s responsible for it, he said. Trump also stressed that Orbán keeps on winning despite all of the attacks, which is something they all share in common.
He concluded by thanking everyone at CPAC Hungary for their “commitment to common sense and conservative principles, and to the common civilization that Americans, Hungarians and Europeans share”, adding that “our two countries are showing the way toward a revitalized West, that will protect our citizens, uplift our children, and lead the world for generations to come”.
Just two days after CPAC Hungary, far-right and sovereigntist politicians from across Europe will also gather in Budapest for the first Grand Assembly of the Patriots for Europe group. It seems that with just a few weeks left until the elections, in the coming days, Fidesz is seeking to highlight the number of foreign supporters Viktor Orbán has.
