Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Hungarian soldiers in Berehove, Ukraine for the first time. The president visited members of the 128th Detached Transcarpathian Mountain Assault Brigade. In his Twitter post, Zelensky summarised the visit by saying that this was an "important meeting with representatives of the Hungarian community and our fighters. The first meeting in this format. We are all citizens of Ukraine, ethnic Hungarians, ethnic Ukrainians, and all our other national communities. We all defend our country, we all help our warriors – all our heroes.

Zelensky thanked the Hungarian community and the people of Transcarpathia "for their respectful and caring attitude towards the IDPs, for welcoming all our people."
