On 27 June, a police officer killed 17-year-old Nahel Merzouk during a traffic stop, sparking days of violent unrest. His death has resurrected potent issues about racism, discrimination and police brutality in France. Far-right politicians in France and abroad used the riots for political gain, linking the rioting to immigration. We take a look at how the events were viewed across Europe.
