Hungarian Olympic athletes return home from Paris with 19 medals

Hungarian athletes won six gold, seven silver and six bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, placing them 14th on the medal table.

The Hungarian Olympic delegation arrived home from Paris on Monday afternoon. A few hundred people were waiting for the Hungarian team at the Puskás Arena, and enthusiastic cheers greeted the returning delegation.

Zsolt Gyulai, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, gave a speech in which he said that Hungary fought hard and finished 14th out of 206 countries, which is something to be proud of.

Gyulai thanked the team for persevering and bringing joy to 15 million Hungarians. He also thanked the Hungarian government for supporting the sport.

After the Olympic athletes' messages, the coaches, assistants and therapists were called to the podium, congratulated on the spot and applauded by the spectators.

Hungarian athletes won six gold medals, seven silver and six bronze medals, so they copied the performance in Tokyo in 2021, missing out on a single bronze medal. Hungary finished eighth in terms of medals per capita and 14th on the medal table.
