At this weekend's 39th Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, Lando Norris will race in a unique helmet which has been custom-painted specifically for him at the Herend Porcelain Manufactory.

The 24-year-old McLaren driver and the world-renowned porcelain manufactory unveiled the special hand-painted protective gear on Wednesday.

"It will be special to race in this helmet because it hasn't often happened in recent times that I had collaborated with anyone on a new helmet. Hopefully, the fact that I can race in it will also mean that I can drive faster because of it," the British driver who is hoping to improve on last year's second place and win another Herend trophy told M4 Sport.

Norris's special relationship with the Herend Porcelain Manufactory dates back to last year's race, when he accidentally smashed the trophy of that year's winner Max Verstappen, after the Dutch world champion placed it on the podium at his feet and it tipped over as Norris was attempting to open his champagne bottle.

The 39th Hungarian Grand Prix will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Hungaroring race track in Mogyoród near Budapest.
