Zelensky invites Hungarian PM Magyar to Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote a letter to Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar on the occasion of Hungary’s national holiday celebrated on August 20. According to the letter posted on the Facebook page of the Ukrainian Embassy in Budapest, Zelensky invited the Hungarian Prime Minister to Kyiv “at the earliest convenient time.”

In the letter, Zelensky congratulated the Hungarian people on St. Stephen’s Day and expressed his gratitude for Hungary’s consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stated that they particularly appreciate the humanitarian aid provided by Hungary, especially in supporting the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children and soldiers.

In the letter, Zelensky reaffirmed his readiness to engage in open and constructive cooperation to further strengthen Ukrainian-Hungarian relations “and to develop comprehensive cooperation for the sake of our shared European future.”
