Viktor Orbán reacted on X to the failed meeting between US President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky on Friday evening. With European leaders aligning themselves with Ukraine and the Ukrainian President one after the other, Hungary's Prime Minister wrote the following:

"Strong men make peace, weak men make war. Today President Trump stood bravely for peace. Even if it was difficult for many to digest. Thank you, Mr. President."

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and Donald Trump met at the White House on Friday. The meeting was arranged so that the two countries could sign an agreement on the exploitation of Ukraine's mineral resources. At the press event preceding their actual meeting, Trump and J.D. Vance angrily lashed out at the Ukrainian President with raised voices.

Zelensky ended up leaving the White House quickly without signing the agreement on the exploitation of Ukrainian minerals. After the meeting, on his social media page, Trump wrote that Zelensky could come back when he was ready for peace, but said that as far as he could see, that hasn't happened yet.
