Arte: Has Europe dropped the ball on biodiversity?

Europe once led global efforts to protect biodiversity, but political pressure and industry lobbying have brought progress to a screeching halt. Pesticide restrictions have been weakened and environmental laws diluted, while ecosystems remain under threat. With last week’s COP17 on biodiversity a wake-up call, can Europe get back on track?
