Arte: Are we in a new era of mass surveillance?
Smile! You’re being filmed. CCTV has become part of everyday life – could we be going the same way with facial recognition? The EU is the only place in the world with rules on the use of AI, including in surveillance, but some countries have found loopholes. Rights campaigners warn that the tech is a serious invasion of privacy and question how effective it is.
This programme is produced by the European platform ARTE and available in 10 languages through the European media partnership EMOVE Hub.
