Vladimir Putin has said Russia is “ready for war” with Europe. After Ukraine, will another European country be next? Governments across the EU are scrambling to beef up their armies, and one by one are starting to reintroduce voluntary or mandatory military service. Not everyone is behind the idea – particularly young people, who would be the first to be called up.
