Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have met in Kyiv on Tuesday, according to the first photos of the meeting published by the Hungarian State News Agency, MTI.
This is the first time the Hungarian Prime Minister has visited the Ukrainian capital since Russia attacked the country on 24 February 2022. Since then, almost all EU heads of government have paid a visit to Kyiv. A video of Orbán's motorcade has been posted on Nexta's X-account:
According to sources of Telex, no agreement will be signed and no joint press conference will be held at the meeting, the preparations for which have been kept strictly confidential. Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's Press Secretary, said in a statement that "The most important topic of the meeting is the prospect for establishing peace. Viktor Orbán and Volodymyr Zelensky will also discuss current issues in Hungarian-Ukrainian bilateral relations".
